County’s first American Smokehouse launch exciting new menu

Shropshire’s first American Smokehouse have revved up their menu and are introducing a tasty line up of new gourmet creations – including luxury Lamborghinis!

Ryan King, manager of the popular Smoke Stop. The road to BBQ, at Ford, near Shrewsbury, said diners were in for a treat at the launch of their third new menu – which features The Lamborghini Special Edition lamb burger.

Ryan and his partner Sophie Gwilliam, who run the eaterie, which offers an authentic American dining experience in rural Shropshire, have also created a peanut butter jelly burger.

“It’s a sweet and savoury sensation,” said Ryan. “Myself and Sophie came up with the idea, tried it, and discovered that it’s really, really nice.

“It nicely complements the bacon marshmallow burger we introduced earlier this year and has proved to be a hit with people. I’m sure this one will be equally successful.”

Ryan added: “We’ve introduced a few other new burgers and it’s all about keeping the fun aspect to what we do.

“We’ve come up with a death row burger which has plenty of hot relish with it like jalapeno and scotch bonnet, a hot chilli. It’s not for the faint hearted and is guaranteed to make you sweat – but we often have people coming in and asking for the hottest burgers we have.

“There’s also a new lamb burger which we’re calling The Lamborghini special edition.

“We’ve introduced big smoked turkey legs, ideal for people who have been to the gym and want a protein fix, while there’s also new vegetarian options, so we’re catering for everyone across the board really.”

Early feedback, said Ryan, has been excellent, with the new additions to the menu already hitting the right notes.

He said: “Social media is great for us. We’ve installed free wifi and people often take pictures of their food and tweet about it so that gives us great instant feedback.

“We’ve been open 15 months now, it’s flown by, and we’re really pleased with how it’s going.

“We’re growing as a team and have now got 33 staff of all ages. Sophie and I are really proud that we’ve been able to employ so many people and give lots of youngsters their first job.”

Smoke Stop are also anticipating a busy Christmas and have bought a mini-bus to ferry revellers around town to help them get into the party mood.

“It’s an added touch to make their Christmas parties extra special,” said Ryan. “We can take people into town after they’ve come out to Smoke Stop so they can continue their parties instead of having to get taxis.

“It’s another service we are happy to provide so people can come here and enjoy excellent food and a drink before being able to carry on their parties afterwards.

“We’re really looking forward to Christmas and have got quite a few big parties already booked in – but there’s always room for more.”
