Shropshire County Cricket Club proud to be supporting Severn Hospice again this season

Shropshire County Cricket Club is again supporting Severn Hospice this season by displaying the charity’s logo on the playing shirts for the team’s National Counties Cricket Association Championship fixtures.

The club have also made a donation of £1,000 to Severn Hospice after raising funds for the charity.

Richard Lees, Shropshire CCC’s operations director, said: “The club is very proud to be supporting such a wonderful charity as Severn Hospice once again this season.

“Most people will know somebody who has been touched by the incredible work that Severn Hospice do.

“We have made a donation to the charity and the shirts our players will wear during our four NCCA Championship fixtures later in the season will again feature the Severn Hospice logo.”

Bowled over by the support

Nicky Green, senior community fundraiser at Severn Hospice added: “We are absolutely bowled over by the support we have received from Shropshire County Cricket Club and to be chosen once again as their Charity of the Year is fabulous.

“We can’t thank them enough for their generosity over the past two years and by supporting us they enable us to be there for so many local people who are living with incurable illness and facing heartbreak.

“Through their fundraising, donations and collections at matches, they have raised more than £1,750 for our care and we are so proud to see our name on their shirts when they step out on to the pitch. Thank you to all the players, their supporters and spectators.”

Severn Hospice gives specialist care and support free of charge to families across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who are living with an incurable illness.
